Theory 2: Planes didn't make the towers collapse; bombs did
It has always been a theory that caused a lot of discussion; that the collapse of the twin towers was due to bombs rather than the planes. There is no argument against the fact that planes crashed into the sides of the twin towers the whole world saw it happen, but could that have all been a distraction for something bigger, such as controlled demolition ?
The North tower of the World trade centre was hit by flight 11 between the 92nd and 98th floors and the tower stood for a further 102 minutes and the South tower between the floors 78 and 84 and stood for a further 56 minutes after impact. Alongside these two building collapsing WTC Building 7 also collapsed this building was 47 stories high but was not hit by a plane. The thing that people keep questioning about this is that building seven was located 350 feet away from the twin towers. It is strongly argued that there is no way that planes alone could have made these towers collapse even with the combined impact and the amount of jet fuel that was released with each collision.
in logical thinking it would make sense that jet fuel was the biggest factor in bringing down the tower. Numerous news reports emphasised that the flights were fully loaded with fuel, while later the government report told us that the 767s were carrying about 10,000 of their 24,000-gallon capacity. They also said that most of the jet fuel likely burned off within the first five minutes after the impact. Therefore the jet fuel served only to ignite the fires directly after the collisions rather than to sustain them. This supports the idea that there was no way the heat from these fires was extreme enough to compromise the metal exterior and beams of the buildings. Many architects and scientists even maintain that a plane’s fuel cannot produce enough heat to melt the steel frame of the two buildings that collapsed.
The way the towers collapsed is considerably similar to the destruction of controlled demolition.
Demolition experts say "that towers are the most difficult buildings to bring down in a controlled manner. A tower tends to fall like a tree, unless the direction of its fall is controlled by directional charges." The WTC towers "smoke-stacked" neatly, falling within the boundaries of their foundations. So there is no way that the planes alone could have caused the towers to collapse the way they did.
There are many eye witnesses that swear they heard bombs going off from the inside of the towers. Kim White, 32, an employee on the 80th floor, also reported hearing an explosion. "All of a sudden the building shook, then it started to sway. We didn't know what was going on," she told People. "We got all our people on the floor into the stairwell . . . at that time we all thought it was a fire . . .We got down as far as the 74th floor . . . then there was another explosion." Another key witness was Lou Cacchioli, Firefighter in WTC 1: "Tommy Hetzel was with me and everybody else also gets out of the elevator when it stops on the 24th floor," said Cacchioli, "There was a huge amount of smoke. Tommy and I had to go back down the elevator for tools and no sooner did the elevators close behind us, we heard this huge explosion that sounded like a bomb. It was such a loud noise, it knocked off the lights and stalled the elevator".
There is little information to back up the official statement that the planes caused the towers to collapse.
It is also believed that 10-12 nights before the attack security video cameras in the World Trade Centre car park caught footage at 3am of 2 or 3 truck vans entering the car park. These vans were different to the usual vans used by the janitorial services. The security cameras saw the vans leaving approximately 5 am before anyone had arrived. This supposedly carried on for a further 10 12 nights, from approximately 23 august till the 3rd of September, after this night/morning they were never seen entering the trade centre. People believe that the trucks entering the trade centre every night could have been a perfect opportunity for them to spend time to find where they were going to plant the bombs.
